Humphrey Cobbold is non-executive chair of PureGym Group, having handed over the role of CEO of PureGym to Clive Chesser on 1 January 2025.

He joined the company in January 2015 and oversaw rapid growth and international expansion which took the business from 84 gyms in the UK (@ January 2015) to more than 650 today across the UK, Denmark, Switzerland, Saudi Arabia and the US.

As well as guiding more than 300 organic new site openings, Cobbold oversaw the group's acquisition of LA Fitness in 2015, Soho Gyms in 2018, Fitness World in 2020, and Blink Fitness in 2024. He also managed the sale of the business from CCMP to Leonard Green Partners in 2017 (valuing PureGym at more than £600m) and secured £300m investment from KKR in 2021 to support expansion.

He was previously CEO of Wiggle Ltd, the online retailer of cycling and triathlon-related products, which he led while growing revenue from £30 million to over £170 million over four years from 2009 to 2013.

Cobbold has extensive experience gained through former roles, which include director of strategic development and an executive committee member of Trinity Mirror (now Reach Plc – the UK's largest newspaper publisher); investment director at Candover Partners (European PE Investment Firm); and as co-head of the UK media and corporate finance practices for McKinsey, where he worked for 15 years.

He has lived and worked in the UK, New Zealand, France, Spain and South Africa, as well as having experience in the US, across Europe and in Latin America. He speaks French reasonably fluently and Spanish badly.

Cobbold holds an MA in Natural Sciences from Cambridge University where he was a senior scholar and an MBA with Distinction from Insead Business School.

Having been a keen sportsman, he still exercises and cycles regularly and keeps as fit as he can in body and mind. He has been married for more than 30 years and has three grown up children.

Alex Perry, CEO, Nuffield Health is speaking at HCM Summit 2026

Alex Perry

Alex Perry joined Nuffield Health as CEO in September 2024. He brings extensive experience in senior leadership roles within the healthcare sector, including eight years as CEO of Bupa UK Insurance, the UK's largest health insurer.

During his tenure at Bupa, he oversaw record growth in customer numbers and a significant increase in market share, along with the full digital transformation of its service and support offering.

Before joining Bupa, Perry was a principal at Marakon Associates, a strategic advisory firm, and held several senior commercial roles at First Choice Holidays. He has served on the board of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) and has been a trustee of Bupa's charitable arm, the Bupa Foundation.

Sondre Gravir, CEO, SATS, is speaking at HCM Summit 2026

Sondre Gravir has been the CEO of SATS, the largest fitness chain in the Nordics with over 270 gyms and around 10,000 employees, since 2018. Before joining SATS, he held several senior leadership roles, including CEO of Schibsted Marketplaces, Finn.no and Aftenposten.

Gravir also has consultancy experience from his years as a consultant in McKinsey. He has also extensive board experience, currently a member of the board of directors of Schibsted and Monterosa Sport.

Gravir has a business degree from the Norwegian School of Economics and Nation University of Singapore. And if not in the office, he is usually found in a group training class at a SATS club.

Oliver Patrick, Co-founder, Future Practice is speaking at HCM Summit 2026

Oliver Patrick is co-founder of fitness education business Future Practice, wellbeing director of medical business Latus Health and clinical director of luxury hotel business, Pillar Wellbeing.

A physiologist and health assessment expert, focussed on the measurable health and performance outputs of lifestyle, he consults on wellbeing strategy directly with organisations globally, including Nike, Accor Well-being, Everyone Active, PureGym and UK Coaching.

In his earlier career Patrick formed the largest team of physiologists and nutritionists in the UK as head of physiology at Nuffield Health, before co-founding Viavi, the world's most advanced health assessment clinic on London's Harley Street.

At Nuffield, Patrick designed and delivered some of the largest corporate wellbeing initiatives across the UK.

He is host of the popular Energy Equation Podcast from High Performance, where he uses advanced heart rate variability technology to run personalised stress, sleep, and fitness assessments on well-known guests.

Anna Milani, CEO, Brain and Fitness,
is speaking at HCM Summit 2026

Anna Milani
CEO, Brain and Fitness

A leader in brain-body performance, longevity, and corporate wellness and the founder of Spark'd and Brain and Fitness, Milani combines deep expertise in neuroscience, cognition, exercise science, and organisational performance. She holds an MBA from Anglia Ruskin University in UK as well as numerous certifications in the fields of fitness, wellness and neuroscience.

Her work includes designing and delivering corporate brain-body gyms, such as a proof-of-concept facility for Jones Lang LaSalle Singapore. She has also developed training environments for Nexus International School and the Singapore Brain Development Centre.

Her approach integrates cutting-edge science with practical strategies to deliver measurable outcomes for individuals and organisations alike. She presents at conferences and for corporate clients on the topic of exercise and brain health and has received numerous awards as a leader in her field.

Milani's career has included senior leadership roles in high-end fitness and wellness organisations across Singapore and London, including Matt Roberts Personal Training, Grace Belgravia, Anytime Fitness and CHI Longevity.

Jonathan Fisher, CEO, Tribute Brands is speaking at HCM Summit 2026

Jonathan Fisher is the CEO of Tribute Brands, the franchise portfolio that owns PILAT3S and TRIB3. He is leading the global expansion of the company, driving the growth of PILAT3S and its wider portfolio with the goal of opening 100+ studios worldwide.

Fisher also serves as chair of 432 Social Wellbeing, a boutique wellness brand focused on guided sauna, cold immersion and breathwork experiences.

With over three decades experience in the fitness and wellness industry, including leadership roles at Holmes Place, he has built, scaled and repositioned brands across multiple markets.

A social and political sciences graduate from the University of Cambridge, Fisher began his career at 24, operating and selling a fashion-sports retail business. He later joined his father, Allan Fisher, at Holmes Place, where he led international expansion, acquisitions and the rollout of new brands across Europe, including EVO Fitness.

His work is underpinned by three decades of study in meditation, yoga and Indian philosophy, informing his position that longevity, balance and performance sit at the core of modern wellness.

He serves as the president of Sadvidya Foundation, a non-profit dedicated to educating communities on the benefits of meditation and lifestyle.

Beyond the fitness sector, he acts as chair of CorNeat Vision, a pioneering medtech company restoring vision in patients with corneal blindness.

Pieterjan (PJ) Nuitten, CEO, Jims,
is speaking at HCM Summit 2026

Pieterjan (PJ) Nuitten has an MBA from IESE Business School and began his career at McKinsey, where he specialised in the consumer and retail industries. Transitioning to Colruyt Group, Belgium's largest grocery retailer, he played a pivotal role in shaping strategic wellness initiatives before assuming the helm as CEO of Jims, a leading fitness chain in Belgium and Luxembourg which was acquired by Colruyt Group as part of its move to deliver an holistic wellness offering to its customers.

At Jims, Nuitten is leveraging the synergies between retail and fitness, as well as being part of the board of directors of the Health Vertical of Colruyt Group, working with health brands such as NewPharma.

Nuitten has been recognized as one of Belgium's "40 under 40" for his impactful contributions to leadership and society.

Marc Diaper, MD, Fitness First UK, is speaking at HCM Summit 2026

With 25 years' industry experience, Marc Diaper has progressed from Personal Trainer and Sports Therapist to CEO of Fitness First UK, where he leads the overall business strategy with a strong emphasis on people, brand and marketing.

Before joining Fitness First, he spent 15 years at London's disruptive fitness brand, Gymbox, where he held positions of Sales and Marketing Director, Managing Director and ultimately CEO, leading the business through to a successful sale in November 2024.

Marc has an entrepreneurial drive and a clear conviction that sustainable success is built on uncompromising brand standards and operational consistency, while continually evolving the proposition to ensure ongoing relevance and competitive edge. He is passionate about developing high performing teams and currently leads an organisation of more than 350 employees, alongside a network of over 600 freelance personal trainers and group fitness instructors.

John Oxley, CEO, Life Leisure, is speaking at HCM Summit 2026

John Oxley has 40 years' experience in the sector, having served an 'apprenticeship' as a lifeguard, instructor and duty manager before moving into senior leadership. His roles have included being commercial director and group operations director for Sport and Leisure Management (SLM) and the Everyone Active brand, managing director for mission-led charity, Active Nation, and chief operating officer for Places Leisure.

Oxley is currently CEO at Stockport Active CIC, as well as being a board member at GM Active and board advisor to both ActiveXchange and Longevity Network.

A fellow of CIMSPA and founder of the Active Well-being Leadership Network, Oxley has developed a Transformational Leadership Programme for the sport and physical activity sector which he combines with executive leadership coaching.

He has been a director and board member at UK Active, a Quest board member and an industry award winner, as well as speaking at sector events in the UK and Australia.

"I believe leadership is a privilege not a rank" says Oxley, "and that results are achieved by people through people.

"I'm passionate about sport and physical activity and its ability to contribute to improved population health and to help address the hideous incidence of health inequity. I have a thirst for being even better tomorrow than I was today and to creating the conditions for tomorrow's leaders to emerge and flourish.

Dr Hussain Al-Zubaidi is speaking at HCM Summit 2026

Dr Hussain Al-Zubaidi
Lifestyle and TV doctor

Dr Hussain Al-Zubaidi is a GP with an extended role in lifestyle and obesity medicine, as well as being a personal trainer and health coach. He has a varied portfolio career across several sectors. These include being the Royal College of GPs lifestyle and physical activity lead, Red Whale Lifestyle and obesity course lead, Leamington NHS personalised care lead and Parkrun's health partnerships lead, as well as a Swim England clinical advisor and a senior board member for Sport in Mind.

He runs a pioneering NHS-based lifestyle clinic and fitness club helping to educate and support patients to eat better, move more and connect with their community.

With a strong focus on weight management, healthspan and social prescribing, Al-Zubaidi is a well-respected educator delivering talks and lectures to audiences both professional and consumer-facing.

He also makes regular TV and radio appearances, including over 80 on Channel 4, BBC and ITV This Morning, GMB and BBC news. He is the resident obesity medicine expert at This Morning.

Al-Zubaidi has also been published in over 20 medical journals.

When not working, he is a keen age group triathlete who represents his country as part of Team GB.

Jefford is recognised as one of the sector's leading commercial thinkers, championing a progressive approach to public leisure that balances financial performance with innovation, accessibility and long-term sustainability.

Under his leadership, Everyone Active has continued to set the benchmark for commercially successful leisure management, combining operational excellence with innovation and long-term strategic growth.

Jefford became MD of Everyone Active in May 2026, following the retirement of David Bibby.
