Hyrox, is joining forces with Les Mills, to offer bespoke training programmes to get gym-goers race ready for Hyrox events as Official Group Training Programme Parter for Hyrox.
The collaboration is kickstarting with the launch of two new group training programmes: Ceremony Hyrox and Ceremony Hyrox Max, both of which are based on Les Mills’ successful functional circuit format.
The new programmes will support Hyrox training, while retaining the unique blend of music, motivating coaching, community and science-backed movement Les Mills is famous for.
All workouts are developed with sports scientists, physiologists and movement specialists and are rigorously tested. There will be four new releases every three months.
Les Mills MD, Phillip Mills, told HCM that this partnership is especially important to him: “I think Hyrox will bring millions of members to gyms. I think it’s going to be the biggest of all the gym-related sports and will eventually feature in the Olympics.
“The partnership first came about at FIBO 2022 when Liz Terry [editor of HCM] introduced me to Christian Toetzke [Hyrox founder] at the first FIBO Hyrox event in 2022. He's a former elite level decathlete and I’ve got a track and field background, so we hit it off straight away. The teams have been engaging ever since.
“I’m a strong believer in club-based sports for the community and membership engagement they create," says Mills. "Over the years, my clubs in New Zealand have benefited hugely from organising running, triathlon, CrossFit training and other gym-related sports teams. I believe fitness racing will be the biggest of them all and I’m inspired to be involved with Hyrox.”
Mills describes the Ceremony Hyrox Max class as mini Hyrox events. There's an option designed for delivery on the gym floor using machines and another for exercise studios using group fitness equipment.
The new programmes, plus Hyrox affiliation and access to the full Hyrox365 platform, are now available to clubs as a preferential package.
Douglas Gremmen, chief growth officer at Hyrox, says: “Partnering with a brand like Les Mills felt very natural to Hyrox, given its well-established reputation and credibility within the global training community, and its consistent effort when it comes to the direction of group fitness through innovative concepts.
“At Hyrox we’re excited to see what the partnership holds, and the ways in which we will unlock its unique approach to developing scalable and repeatable workouts, while maintaining the core essence of the sport of Hyrox – helping to give athletes the experience of the best of both worlds, ensuring they are as prepared as possible for race day.”
An interview with Phillips Mills giving more insight into the deal, as well as other new Les Mills' developments will appear in the next issue of HCM. Sign up here.
